APOSW is seeking passionate and dedicated leaders to join our Board of Directors. These volunteer roles are essential to advancing our mission and supporting the professional growth of pediatric oncology social workers nationwide.

 

Are you a detail-oriented planner with strong communication and negotiation skills? The Conference Chair oversees all aspects of our annual APOSW conference—including logistics, contracts, and sponsor communication—and travels to the conference site.

 

Help elevate the voice of pediatric oncology social work in national policy and practice discussions. The Advocacy Chair represents APOSW within the Alliance for Childhood Cancer and engages members around key advocacy initiatives. Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills are essential.

 

Support lifelong learning for our members! The Professional Development Chair manages APOSW’s continuing education and professional development offerings, including CE applications and evaluations for conference and the online CE center. This role requires strong writing, organization, and comfort with digital tools.

 

The Research Chair facilitates the Research SIG and vets studies seeking APOSW participation. Strong analytical and writing skills are key. The role may also include participation in the COG Behavioral Science Committee.
